Latgawa Mac-n-Cheese

From Camp Latgawa in Southern Oregon

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cup macaroni

  • ½ cup flour

  • 1 ½ t salt

  • ¾ t dry mustard

  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce

  • 4 cups milk

  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  • ½ cup bread crumbs

  • 9T melted butter


Directions


  • Cook macaroni to directions on package

  • Melt 6 tablespoons of butter in sauce pan and stir in flour, salt, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. 

  • Cook 5-10 minutes over medium low

  • Add milk gradually, stirring constantly. 

  • Cook until thickened

  • Add cheese and stir until melted.

  • Mix in macaroni

  • Transfer to greased 9x11 baking pan

  • Mix bread crumbs with remaining 3T of melted butter.

  • Sprinkle over macaroni and cheese

  • Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes
